Many of you have been asking why we’re shifting gears to get PC ports of Suikoden rather than campaign for Suikoden IV, V, and Tactics on PSN. We want to assure everyone that we will *never* stop fighting for them. At the same time, we’ve come to realize that campaigning for them right now will only appeal to the current hardcore Suikoden fanbase and yield diminishing returns towards our group’s cause.
We are the Suikoden Revival Movement, and our goal is to revive interest the franchise and help pave the path to a new proper entry. For that to happen, we need to expand the franchise’s reach to new platforms and expose it to new potential fans who may not own Sony consoles. PC remasters of the older games would give Konami the opportunity to make some key refinements to the game, like those found in the Japanese-only PSP release of I & II (widescreen support, improved sound quality, etc). With the successful sales of other recent JRPG ports (like Disgaea and Valkyria Chronicles), we are confident that such a release would help make the case to Konami that Suikoden a financially viable franchise to continue investing in.
#SuikodenOnSteam begins on June 3rd; see you there, campaigners!
